Michigan 2001 Report
Hi All,
Well, it's come and gone. The day of the reunion was beautifully warm,
a good day to sit by the lake under the trees and try to keep cool. The
rain visited our area around 7:00 am, and was done and gone an hour later,
so it didn't even disturb our preparations! I had never thought to keep
track of what time it rained in years gone past, this year I noted it on
the sign-up sheet. We had 41 people for this years reunion, representing 3
of Francis's children.. Sarah, William, and David. Alvin Warren, David's
great-grandson, brought his collection of photos from his grandmother, and
we were between us able to put names to several of them. The best surprise
of the day was the fact that all three families represented had remembered
seeing a certain 2 portraits. My father Lloyd, his brother Frank Raymond,
and their cousin Velma (descendants of William) could remember seeing large
portraits in big gold frames on the wall of their grandparents house, though
they assumed them to be of the Boulter grandparents. Alvin's grandmother
(of David) also had big portraits of the two. And Betty Wolhuis (of Sarah)
had the pictures in her own collection, though she had thought them to be of
another set of grandparents. However, the only people the 3 families have
in common are Francis and Sarah Ann Boniface, so we are hopeful that we have
finally found photos of that worthy couple! Alvin also possesses several
photos taken by Hailsham photographers. Betty will try to copy them and
send them to Derrick, and hopefully get them on the website, to see if
anyone recognizes them.
The hours went by so quickly, with great food and conversations, and old
friends spending time with each other. Unfortunately, I tried to listen to
everything, video everyone, and take photos. Next year we should designate
someone as official photographer to try and catch each family group. Uncle
Frank Raymond escaped before I could get a picture of him with his children,
or with my father!
Thanks for your good wishes and support!
